This study was performed to evaluate the odour impact of Mechanical Biological Treatment Plant (MBT) of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) located in France. The odour emissions of the main buildings of the facility were characterized and the odour and VOC removal of the deodorization equipments (scrubber, biofilter and activated carbon filter) were assessed. Smoke and tracer gases tests were conducted inside the main buildings of the plant to determine the mechanisms, routes and gas transfer rates. Finally an odour dispersion study was conducted to determine the impact around the installation.
