O "RAMINP", para los amigos, (Decreto 2414/1961) es en muchos casos la unica legislación que menciona a los "olores".

  Hoy en día solo en el Reglamento de Actividades Molestas, Nocivas y Peligrosas, aparece 4 veces la palabra "olores".

Artículos interesantes de este Decreto son:

  • El artículo 3 cita que serán calificadas como "molestas" las actividades que constituyan una incomodidad por los olores que generen.
  • El artículo 4 cita que "(...) las industrias fabriles que deban ser consideradas como peligrosas o insalubres, sólo podrán emplazarse, como regla general, a una distancia de 2.000 metros a contar del núcleo más próximo de población agrupada".
Esta ley que tiene ya 46 años, se ha quedado obsoleta y varias comunidades autónomas como Cataluña o Valencia están elaborando legislación propia al respecto.

Ley de Contaminación Olfativa

  Pues nada, que cambió el Gobierno sin que se hiciera la Ley de Contaminación Olfativa (Llei de Contaminació Olfactiva) de Cataluña. Y esa Ley no está en la lista (Punt Diari, 01.12.06) de las que se van a retomar con el nuevo Gobierno, que no es el de Maragall pero se le parece mucho, aun cuando el "Conseller" de Medio Ambiente sigue siendo el mismo..

  Ya es la segunda vez que decae ese proyecto de ley por falta de voluntad política de llevarlo a término. No hay nada que nos haga pensar que con Montilla será distinto.

  Un gobierno tras otro, deja que los ciudadanos malvivan cerca de una pestilente industria. No soy el único que ha cambiado su hogar por las molestias que causa Juncà Gelatines y otras industrias cárnicas a los vecinos de Banyoles. Otros, desgraciadamente no pueden hacerlo.

  Y mientras, los políticos se miran el ombligo y los empresarios la cartera.

hydrogen sulfide (H2S)

  Some reviews of the health hazards associated with H2S exposure and subsequent treatment include Milby and Baselt (1999a) and Guidotti (1996). Earlier reviews of the health effects were provided by Glass (1990), Reiffenstein et al. (1992), and Mehlman (1994).

  Exposure to H2S has been reported to be an important cause of morbidity and mortality in the workplace (Snyder et al., 1995) and olfactory dysfunction (Hirsch and Zavala, 1999). These reviews indicate that the typical “rotten-egg odor” of H2S is an inadequate warning indicator of exposure since levels in the range of 100-200 ppm (140-280 mg/m3) can lead to loss of smell followed by olfactory paralysis (Reiffenstein et al., 1992). These authors estimate the odorthreshold of H2S in the range of 3 to 20 ppb (0.004 to 0.03 mg/m3).
