Sampling in Olfactometry. The German PT is now open to other countries

Proficiency Tests (PT) are organised to check the ability of laboratories to deliver accurate testing results to their customers. Since 2015, the Hessian Agency for the Environment and Geology (HLNUG) organizes regular PT on stack odour sampling exclusively for German labs. The PTs about odour sampling of this year will be in September and October and for the very first time they are open to labs from other countries. At this stage, at least six odour labs from outside Germany will participate in this PT as well.
According to our sources three Dutch labs, two Belgian labs and a lab from Denmark will participate in the first International European PT on odour sampling. This test will include not only n-butanol but also several practical odorants as well. In Germany only accredited and designated test labs may conduct official emission measurements in Germany (§29b BImSchG). In this country the 'designation' requires a periodic (every 2.5 years) successful participation in a PT comprising sampling and analysis
This document recently released shows still one place available for the test that will take place the 28th of September and 4 places left for the test planned on the 5th of October.
This time the test is open to any country in the world. It is your chance to test how good you are at sampling. Grab it!
