The NOSE2016 is just here. In about a month, the 5th International Conference on Environmental Odour Monitoring & Control (NOSE2016) will take place in Ischia, Italy. From the 28th of September and during 3 days, some of the most important experts on odour management from Europe will be there. Every two years, this conference organized by the Italian Association of Chemical Engineering (AIDIC) with the help of the University Politecnico di Milano, has earned a well deserved position in the list of to-attend conferences about odour management.
The aim of the NOSE conference series is to give the opportunity to the scientific and industrial community members from all over the world to meet, exchange experiences and ideas, as well as discuss the main innovations related to odours. The first NOSE Conference took place in Rome in 2008 and slowly, it has been growing every two years as a date to tick in the calendar of events.
The Industrial Environment Engineering Laboratory (LGEI) of Mines Alès Engineering School is looking for a motivated and dynamic post-doctoral researcher with solid background in organic chemical analysis and/or gas/vapour analysis. The selected post-doctoral researcher will be a member of the research team connected with the national and international scientific community about odours.
The Ecole Mines d’Alès, in France, is looking for a post-doctoral researcher with experience in organic chemical analysis and/or gas/vapour analysis for a contract of 18 months (CDD). The research project is focused on measurement of odorous compounds by classical methodologies and by using a new type of monitoring device of odorant compounds. This device is based on Surface Plasmon Resonance hardware technology including microfluidic system, chemically functionalized optical sensors and image acquisition and processing softwares. Experiments will be based on response tests with synthetic or real atmospheres, with variation of parameters such as humidity, strong odorant tracers…

Odour management is becoming an increasing issue in Chile. There are already a few Technical norms related with the management of odours. There are also a few olfactometric labs already in this country. Proterm SA is a company located in Concepcion, Chile with over 20 years of experience in environmental monitoring of particles and other gases. From March 2016, this company is offering also services related to odour engineering in the southern and northern zones of Chile.
Proterm S.A. offers services of sampling according to the Chilean Norm NCh Nº3386:2015, which is an adaptation of the German norm VDI 3880. Also this company offers services of odour measurement using a dynamic olfactometer according to the Chilean Norm NCh Nº 3190:2010.
In addition, Proterm SA offers services of dispersion modelling according to the Chilean Guideline on Odour Modeling published by the SEA and field inspections according to the German Norm VDI 3940.
All the papers from the III International Conference on Environmental Odour Management, that took place in Bilbao, Spain, have been published during the years 2015 and 2016.
This time, the Conference was organized by olores.org and the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). This Third International Conference on Environmental Odour Management took place the 23rd and 24th November 2015, at the Paranymph of the Basque Country University in Bilbao, Spain.
Here there are all the papers published beforehand in just one document. The following list includes the links to the papers presented and published during the last months. Most of them are in Spanish, but some of the authors have translate them into English:
These are the posters which were exhibited during the III International Conference on Environmental Odour Management, that took place in Bilbao, Spain, in November 2015.
The event, which took place at the Paranymph of the Basque Country University in Bilbao, had a record number of over 150 attendees and exhibitors, underscoring the increased interest in environmental odour management. Besides, there were 6 companies displaying their products and services at the reserved booth space and also 4 posters in the poster session.
