Olores.org, the site that deals with Environmental odour management, is organising the first Odour talks session in Bilbao, the 17th October 2016. This course will be held in the auditorium of Bilbao Berrikuntza Faktoria building, in the heart of Bilbao city in Spain. In addition, the course will be followed online via webinar.
We are glad to announce that the speakers of this course will be very well-known European odour experts and also the editor of this website. The course will be an open seminar (face-to-face and online via webinar or Youtube) followed by a round table and open discussion. The registration is open to any participant with an interest in the odour management of industrial plants such as Wastewater Treatment Plants, Composting plants, oil refineries, paper pulp plants, animal by-product processing plants, waste processing, landfills, etc.
The International Water Association (IWA) Publishing office has released today the first Handbook of Environmental Odour Management. This interesting publication is edited by Franz-Bernd Frechen, Professor at the University of Kassel in Germany, Jean-Michel Guillot, Professor at the École de Mines d’Alès in France, Richard Stuetz, Professor at the University of New South Wales in Australia and Anton P. Van Harreveld, CEO in Barcelona of the multinational company Odournet. All of them are very well known people in this environmental field and they all have decades of experience in odour management.
Complaints due to odour annoyance have become a major issue for wastewater treatment plant, waste management, landfill, intensive livestock and other industrial operators as the repeated release of unpleasant odorous emissions can constitute a nuisance to a local population. With this book, plant managers, consultants, scientist and environmental regulators have a very interesting source of information to stay updated about the last tools to manage odour releases to the environment.
The scientific committee of the Digital Olfaction Society invites the academics and industrials working in the field of digital olfaction to present their recent studies and innovations during the 3rd World Congress of DOS to be held in Tokyo on December 7-8, 2016.
There is a list of speakers already confirmed for DOS Tokyo 2016, but if you are interested in participate, you can submit the abstracts for the short oral presentation until October 30. If any participant is interested to have a major talk, please send an abstract before October 3.
The SM100i uses fixed orifice dilution control and therefore requires minimal re-calibration. However standard, annual re calibration should be performed. As a new service for their clients, the company Scentroid offers their new maintenance Service that includes disassemble and ultrasonic cleaning, re-assembly and replacement of all tubing and seals and a final re-calibration.

The company Olfasense is organizing a Technical Training Day at their Olfasense laboratory facilities in Kiel, Germany the 25th of January 2017. The following day there will be the 2017 edition of their Workshop on Product and Material Testing.
