This time, the NOSE conference has been one of the best organized conference in the NOSE series that started in the year 2008 in Rome. We have had the pleasure of attending each and everyone of these European Conferences on odour management and we must say that the AIDIC will have a terrible task if they pretend to do it better next time.
Around 90 people, with a different background but a common interest on odour management, gathered for 3 days in the beautiful island of Ischia in Italy. This conference organized by the Italian Association of Chemical Engineering (AIDIC) with the help of the University Politecnico di Milano, has earned a well deserved position on the list of to-attend conferences about odour management.
Olores.org had the honour of organizing the last meeting of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) on 'Instrumental odour monitoring’. These meetings were organized last week in our home town of Bilbao, Spain. It was a pleasure to meet all the colleagues in our city and to discuss for two days about odour management and instrumental monitoring.
In the last meeting of the Working Group (WG) 41 in Delft, after several discussions on the scope of the norm, the title of the norm was changed from 'sensor technologies' to 'technologies for instrumental odour monitoring' instead. One of the reasons behind this decision was a hot debate about including other "odour monitoring" devices such as a Gas Chromatography, for example. However, to keep it short. we will use the word 'o-sensor', to keep it short and to make a clear distinction between these devices and the ones incorrectly named as 'e-noses'.
The environmental odour is a growing issue that is embracing more and more European and Asian scholars, companies, professionals, researchers and administrators. That is why the organization of the 15th International Conference on Environmental Science and Technology (CEST2017), that will be held from 31st August to 2nd September 2017 in the beautiful island of Rhodes (Greece), has planned a special session on Odours.
For the very first time, the International Conference on Environmental Science and Technology (CEST2017) has considered to schedule a special session on Environmental Odours. For this reason, the organizing committee is looking for keynotes and/or invited speakers experts in this field. If you are interested in participate in this conference and help to spread the importance of the Odour Management in the Environment, please contact with Professor Vincenzo Naddeo.
