Ecomondo Conference in Rimini Marked a Successful Milestone in odour management

   The recently concluded Ecomondo conference in Rimini, Italy, stood as a testament to the growing commitment towards environmental protection and sustainable solutions. The conference, held on Tuesday, 7th November, brought together professionals, experts, and environmental enthusiasts from around the world to discuss advancements in the field of Environmental Odour Monitoring & Control.

   A particular highlight of the conference was the special session on "Odour Emissions: from Abatement Technologies to New Control Strategies," held in the Malatesta - Environmental Monitoring zone in pavilion D8. The session drew an impressive crowd, showcasing the keen interest and dedication of attendees to explore innovative solutions for odour management.

Gianluigi de Gennaro from the University of Bari Aldo Moro and Francesco Matteucci, EIC Programme Manager for advanced materials for energy & environmental sustainability, set the stage with an engaging introduction. Key presentations included Lucia Muto's exploration of the thematic network on odours of the Sistema Nazionale a rete per la Protezione dell'Ambiente (SNPA) and Fabio Romeo's discussion on guidelines for odorous emissions from plants and activities. The audience was captivated by innovative approaches presented by speakers like Silvia Trini Castelli, Francesca Tagliaferri, Gianluigi de Gennaro, Elisa Polvara, C. Ratti, Federico Cangialosi, M. Giovannetti, F. Filippelli, A. Mazzone and Marzio Invernizzi, covering topics from traceability of odour impact to chemical-olfactometric evaluation for optimizing odour control measures.
