Atmosphere is an online international, peer reviewed, open access journal of scientific studies related to the atmosphere. Very well-known experts on odour management have published several papers related to odour management in this journal along these years. Now the editors have decided that it is time to launch a special edition dedicated to environmental odours and they are counting on the well-known odour experts Dr. Martin Piringer and Dr. Günther Schauberger as Guest editors for this very special issue.
This Special Issue of Atmosphere will treat the entire chain from the odour source via the dilution in the atmosphere, to the assessment of perception-related odour exposure to the assessment of annoyance, to abatement strategies. Interested authors may send their contributions, the latest the 15th of December 2019.
As mentioned beforehand, this edition will be coordinated by two well-known odour experts, which makes this special edition a very attractive stand-point for odour researchers, and a nice opportunity to unite odour knowledge into one journal. Atmosphere is published monthly online by MDPI. It has been covered by leading indexing services, including the Science Citation Index Expanded (Web of Science), Scopus, Ei Compendex, et al. The 2017 Impact Factor was 1.704.
The Special Issue will include the characterization of the odour source by emission factors and emission models, the use of dispersion models to describe the transport and dilution of odour and odorous substances/mixtures in the atmosphere, and the assessment of the relevant stimuli concentration and the odour impact criteria.
As you probably know, we support any initiative based on both open content and high quality research. Atmosphere is a Journal that delivers high quality papers together with an open content infrastructure at a very reasonable cost for researchers. For this special edition, a cost of around 1200€ has been set, whch is one of the most reasonable ones for this kind of special edition, let apart the free ones, of course.
