podcast vaughan   Vaughan Harshman has replaced Carla Dillon as the new chair of the Air Quality and Odor Control (AQOC) Committee of the Water Environmental Federation (WEF) and now he has being interviewed in the podcast of WEF, Words on Water, about the next WEF odour conference that will take place in Cincinnati, Ohio and other odour issues.

    The Air Quality & Odor Control Committee is a very active team of the WEF that counts on over 100 members these days. In this podcast Vaughan discusses how odour problems develop for water utilities, methods for controlling and reducing odours, and community engagement that happens when there is a problem. He also talks about corrosion issues that can accompany odours and the role of aging infrastructure in odours.

NOSE2020 abstract submission deadline extended to February 10

deadline NOSE2020   The organizing committee of the 7th International Conference on Environmental Odour Monitoring & Control (NOSE2020) has decided to postpone the deadline for abstract submission to 10th of February.

   NOSE2020, that that will take place on 13-16 September 2020 in Giardini Naxos, Taormina, Sicily is organized by AIDIC, The Italian Association of Chemical Engineering. Details on the conference are available at the official website.

A successful IWA odour and VOC conference in Hangzhou, China

    The 8th IWA conference on odour and VOC/air emissions took place in the beautiful city of Hangzhou in China. This very well organized event attracted many people from different parts of the world to learn a bit more about odour management. Many interesting papers and posters were presented during this event. 

   According to the organizers, around 150 people gathered for three days in the beautiful city of Hangzhou in China to discuss the latest development on odour and VOC control. The opening keynote speeches were given by the very much well known Richard Stuetz, Jay Witherspoon and Mel Suffet, so the conference could not have a better start.
