Special edition on odours and health in next CASANZ AIR TALKS, 7 April2022

casanzairtalks2022   The AIR TALKS 2022, is a series of webinars organised by the  Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand (CASANZSpecial Interest Groups (SIGs). As many of you probably know, last AIR TALKS took place a couple of years ago and there was a specific session on odours. That session was a success and again, a special session on odour has been planned for the 7th of April 2022.

   Running from 28 March to 8 April 2022, the CASANZ AIR TALKS 2022 will include a special session on odours. This session is titled "Health and Odour" and will take place on Thursday 7th of April 2022 from 16.00 to 18.00 AEST (2.00 pm AWST | 3.30 pm ACST | 6.00 pm NZST | 8.00 am BST & CEST).

   Many well known experts will talk about the implications on health of the odour impact. Dr Jen Martin of the Environmental Public Health Branch, EPA Victoria, will talk about Public Health Perspective - relationship between odour emissions, population exposure and health effects.

   Mr. James Hayes of the University of NSW will present the Community Perspective - the lived experience of odour impact and its translation into communities.

   Mr. Chris Bydder of EPA Victoria will discuss about odorous Industrial Activities and Health Impacts - characterisation of odour and odour emissions from industrial activities including collection and stockpiling of organic waste, mixing of chemicals, cooking, heating, waste handling, chemical recycling, and movement of contaminated soils (including physical and chemical characterisation).

   Mr. Viranga Abeywickrema (EPA Victoria) talk will deal with the Regulatory Perspective - on odour and health and its challenges.

   Finally the editor of this website will present an international Perspective - an insight into recent developments in odour and health, its challenges and outlook.
