The 2027 Gordon Research Conference (GRC) on Gas Sensing and Artificial Olfaction will bring together leading experts, early-career researchers and industry professionals to discuss the latest advances in gas sensing technologies and artificial olfaction systems.
The conference will take place from 21 to 26 February 2027 at the Sheraton Fairplex Hotel & Conference Center in Pomona, California (USA). As with other Gordon Research Conferences, the format is designed to encourage open and in-depth scientific discussion in a relaxed and highly interactive environment.
The Gas Sensing and Artificial Olfaction GRC is an international conference that advances the field through presentations of new research and encourages open discussion and interaction among scientists of all levels.
The scientific program will cover a wide range of topics related to gas sensors, electronic noses, artificial olfaction, data processing and AI for sensing, environmental and industrial applications, and emerging materials and devices for gas detection. The meeting will feature invited talks, poster sessions and ample time for informal discussion, making it especially attractive for researchers working on odors, air quality and gas monitoring.
The conference chairs, who are Il-Doo Kim and Andreas Güntner, and the vice-chairs Ho Won Jang and Laura Capelli, are currently developing the preliminary program, which will include nine scientific sessions and the list of invited speakers and discussion leaders. The detailed preliminary program will be posted on the conference website by May 27, 2026.
In addition to invited talks, the conference will feature a poster session, offering graduate students, postdocs and early-career researchers the opportunity to present their latest results and receive feedback from leading experts in the field. For more info about the poster session, click here.
Financial assistance is available for qualified applicants through the Carl Storm Opportunity Fellowships program, starting in 2026.
