The National Institute of Normalization (INN) in Chile has recently endorsed the new Chilean Standard NCh3190, Air quality. Determination of odour concentration by dynamic olfactometry, which is basically a transposition of the European EN 13725. The draft of this standard can still be consulted on the website of the Superintendence of Sanitary Services (SISS) of Chile.
The INN is the organism in charge of the study and preparation of technical norms at a Chilean level and is a member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the pan-American Commission of Technical Norms (COPANT). The INN represents Chile in these organisms.
The Environment Agency regulates odours under the Environmental Permitting Regulations by means of H4 Odour Guidance which focused on activities under the Pollution and Prevention Control (PPC) Regulations. This document is well known and it is widely used not only in the UK, but also in many other countries as reference guidance.
This document was recently revised and in June 2009 was available on the net, for comments and suggestions into an open consultation procedure. After the closing date on the 13th of October 2009, this document is about to be published.
