cen 13724 enquiry   The 17th of December, the final draft of the revision process of the Standard EN 13725 on Dynamic Olfactometry was sent to the CEN secretariat in order to prepare the Enquiry document. The Working Group 2 of the Technical Comittee 264 of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) had the task of reviewing the existing Standard and it looks like the final draft is ready.

This reviewed European Standard has been developed taking into account 284 working documents and 14 meetings of a group of over 20 people. The first meeting took place in Barcelona in November 2012 and after 6 years of discussions, the draft is here. The process of enquiry is a lenghy process that will take a few months, but we expect that the reviewed EN 13725 will be available along next 2019.

leo olfactometer   In the 6th International Conference on Environmental Control Odor Monitoring - NOSE2018 in Milan (Italy) 9-12 September 2018, ARCO Solutions srl, spin off company of the Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy of University of Trieste, presented for the first time its new product LEO - Light Evolution Olfactometer.

An Olfactometer with 4 panel port designed according to the EN 13725: 2003 and fully automated with 29 dilution steps. Leo is a Dynamic Olfactometer developed for use in laboratories and on-site activities (mobile labs). During the conference the work “Testing Performances of a Newly Design Olfactometer" was also presented, in which the first results of a comparison were made on some samples between the new product and the market benchmark.

zacarias   The aim of this study was to validate olfactometric measurements made in neighborhood of facilities that emit odours at the same time measure the impact on the nearby population before and after installation, and operation of equipment to mitigate odors.

Olfactometric techniques used in this work are to implement a questionnaire to citizens that could be affected by odours, and then take the values obtained to know odour intensity. On the other hand, they were measured for air quality by chemical analysis. The scope of this investigation was olfactometric measurements for a period of 18 months, as well as chemical analysis. Olfactometric measurement procedures were made using the German regulation VDI 3883 Part 1 and 2.
